This picture shows one of my favorite room decorations. I like the composition because the white blanket makes the tower look like it's floating on clouds, while the shadow points to the unlimited sky. The plain shadow, is in deep contrast with the many fine details of the subject (the tower). The game of light and shadow on the tower illustrate a strong metallic sense of the material. The subject was intentionally placed in the center, to create an almost perfect sense of symmetry.
Edits made: Crop, white balance, balance shift, black and white filter. (I chose to make ALL my shadow images black and white because I felt it brought out the shadows more).
Metal Flower
I chose to take this picture for the lines and different patterns in the flower that would make a great shadows subject. The direction of the light is coming from the bottom left corner, pushing up most of the shadows to extend above the metal flower, making it look much bigger and fuller.
Edits made: Crop, white balance, black and white filter.
My Shadow
This picture is very different because of the many different shadows in it. There is my shadow, shadows from the door, lights, and the staircase behind me. I liked how the rectangular frames in the door make the picture look like there's a bunch of different parts of the same picture put together like a puzzle.
